Federation EIL Executive Board President Bettina Weidmann will speak on the topic of Exchange Safety at the upcoming Work Experience Travel Market (WETM) in Rome; which takes place the 13-15th of March 2013.
As a former high school exchange student, Bettina knows first-hand that youth travel promotes intercultural understanding; and as the Director of the Experiment in International Living in Germany (Experiment e.V.), she recognizes how crucial exchange programs are to a young person’s success in today’s interconnected world of people, culture and ideas.
Bettina will co-present at WETM with Chris Gould, Founder and Chairman of Child-Safe International. Their workshop, entitled: Multicultural Safety: Protecting Young People in the Work, Travel and Exchange Community will offer organizations a step-by-step guide to introducing appropriate policies, procedures and safeguarding standards that are simple to use.
This is not the first time that Chris has worked with members of Federation EIL. On two previous occasions, he served as a guest speaker on the topic on travel safety at our annual General Assembly. Safety standards will again be highlighted at this year’s General Assembly in Vermont this April.
