EIL Programs Hosted in Japan

EIL Japan provides individuals with the opportunity to experience a homestay. Participants live with a Japanese family and experience everyday Japanese life. Language classes are also an option.

Whether you stay in a city or in the country, you will experience exceptional safety and security in Japan.

Homestay in Yamaguchi

Yamaguchi is a historical town which has produced a lot of politicians from the end of the Edo era to the current cabinet. During the program, the participants will be able to experience traditional Japanese way of life, staying with a host family and enjoying the culture of Yamaguchi. Also included in the program is an excursion to the world heritage site, Himeji Castle and Hiroshima Memorial Park.

Dates: September 24 – October 4, 2015 (11 days, 10 nights)

EIL Japan accepts high school students for academic year and semester-long programs. Students stay with a Japanese family and go to a Japanese high school.

Host communities are available throughout Japan, mainly in small towns. Students have the opportunity to learn the language and experience unique Japanese culture.
